“When I started working with James in November, I could barely walk, I got breathless going up the stairs and I was having recurrent lung infections. I should mention that I have a myriad of health issues: asthma, glaucoma, sleep apnoea, chronic daily headaches and migraines, cancer survivor and back and hip issues. My self-esteem was very low and I thought I was going to have to accept my confined life.
Not only does James have copious academic knowledge, (his dissertation for his PHD was on ageing well) he has the personality to impart this knowledge in an engaging and practical way, knowing exactly the pace necessary ( in my case that of a snail !) James wants and wills his clients to improve and get fitter and best of all, he does it with a sense of humour with a holistic and non-judgemental attitude.
Fast forward 3 months... I can now go for short walks, no more breathlessness, chronic fatigue under control, recurrent lung infections reduced and I have my confidence back; I can look at myself in the mirror again.

“When I first contacted James, I had back problems and because of Covid lockdown, I could get online help only. We first had a video call, in which he asked all the right questions to make sure he understood my issues. He then developed a back strengthening tailor-made programme for me, which became the basis of my online training for a few months. When my back was better, I decided to stay with him as my personal fitness trainer, as I felt his deep knowledge and passion for his work made me feel safe and in good hands, while delivering great results.
I am currently doing live online individual sessions and group sessions, and always feel he looks after the needs of all his trainees, paying attention to all of us and ensuring that we are working in a safe and efficient manner. Training online is not an obstacle, as he pays a lot of attention to our movements on camera and gives plenty of feedback. Moreover, on a wet evening, it saves you from having to leave the house to do your fitness training!!! James offers an all-rounded programme, working on balance, flexibility, strengthening, cardio and stretching. And all that accompanied by good humour and a big smile, which makes his sessions highly engaging and enjoyable.“
